Where midiverse is going
midiverse is built one phase at a time, and phase 1 is live today: every plan above buys into the phases that follow.
Phase 1
Live nowAudio to MIDI
Upload any solo piano recording and get every note back as MIDI, split into left and right hand. This is what midiverse does today.
- Every note and the sustain pedal, from a phone recording upwards
- Automatic left and right hand separation
- Falling-note practice mode, plus a full piano-roll editor
- Download the whole arrangement or each hand on its own
Phase 2
Next upSheet music generator and export
The same transcription, turned into notation you can actually read from. MIDI knows exactly when a note started; sheet music has to decide what that means in beats, and getting that decision right is the whole job.
- More accurate hand separation
- Better extraction of the piano sound in a recording consisting of multiple instruments
- Better piano player and practice mode
- Rhythms rounded to real note values, with the key and time signature worked out for you
- A proper grand staff: correct beaming, rests and stem directions
- Export to PDF for printing, and MusicXML for MuseScore, Sibelius, Finale and more
- Edit the notation and hear the change straight away
Phase 3
LaterTo be announced
There is a phase 3, and something big is already in the works. It is not ready to be talked about yet, and what lands here depends partly on what people ask for once notation is out.
- Still being decided
- Shaped by what players actually ask for
The living version of this plan lives on the roadmap.
Frequently asked
How do credits work on Plus?
Credits are how Plus measures usage: they're spent as you transcribe, longer recordings use more, shorter ones use less. They're only deducted when a transcription succeeds, so failed uploads cost nothing. Plus gets 720 a month, reset on the first of the month; the 7-day Plus trial includes 50 to try it out. The free plan doesn't use credits at all.
What does the free plan include?
10 free transcriptions every month, up to 3 in any rolling 7-day period, each covering the first 50 seconds of a recording. You get the same left/right hand separation, the same MIDI editor, the same practice player and the same downloads as Plus. You also get a quantized version of every transcription, written out the way music software would write it, with chords struck together and lengths rounded to real note values. Your pushes and pauses survive as tempo changes rather than being flattened, and the tempo is detected as it moves through the piece so the MIDI keeps real bar lines instead of one fixed speed. You get sheet music too, engraved from that same quantized version so the page and the player can never disagree, readable in the browser and downloadable as MusicXML for MuseScore or Dorico. You can also load your own MIDI files straight into the piano sandbox, no account needed.
What do I get by upgrading to Plus?
The 50-second cap comes off, so you transcribe whole pieces instead of the opening. Recordings can run up to 20 minutes, and instead of 10 free transcriptions a month you get a monthly credit allowance that covers hours of audio. Everything else works the same.
When does Enterprise make sense?
When one subscription doesn't fit: a school or studio that needs several accounts on one bill, a team that transcribes far more than 720 credits a month, or anyone who needs to pay by invoice. Tell us what you're doing and we'll put a plan together.
Can I cancel or switch plans anytime?
Yes, straight from your billing page: switch between monthly and yearly with prorated billing, or cancel and keep Plus access until the end of the period you paid for.
What happens to my transcriptions if I downgrade?
Nothing. Everything you transcribed stays in your account with working playback, editing and downloads. Only new transcriptions follow the free limits again.
What recordings work best?
Solo piano recordings, the cleaner the better. Full-band songs and heavily layered mixes will transcribe poorly in this version.
How do I pay?
By card, through our payment provider. We never see or store your card details, and every invoice is available on your billing page. If you have a discount code, enter it at checkout.
